I find it interesting that so many people collect vintage postcards. A few years ago after my father passed away we were cleaning out the basement of the house my parents bought 50 years ago. In the rafters we found a folder that contained 83 postcards that were sent to my mother when she was a little girl. She was born in 1905. Some of these cards had no writing on but 9 of them were from some cousin of hers named "Artie" and were sent from Rouen France in 1915 during the first world war. They describe the area and thank her and her parents for the parcels they sent. Two of these cards have pictures of "Artie" on them. I have no idea who this man is since we live in Canada and all of her relatives lived in England. I do not even know if he survived the war. I am so sorry we didn't know about these cards when my mother was alive so she could tell us about "Artie". Since this is the 90th anniversary of the Canadian Army's victory at Vimy Ridge in France these cards are a wonderful reminder of the soldiers who fought during this time.
